Packaged lab instruments: the buying brief
Specify protective cases and movement limits around the instrument rather than only the external footprint.

Keep the load and the enclosure separate
A wooden collar provides perimeter containment. The base supports the load and the inner pack controls movement and protection. Confirm all three against the goods rather than transferring a rating from another pallet or box. Use the matching collar product guide to discuss the components offered.
Plan the receiving and return process
For packaged lab instruments, the packing decision starts with this specific check: Specify protective cases and movement limits around the instrument rather than only the external footprint. Agree how the receiver opens the pack and removes the items. Where packaging is returned, record the expected condition of boards, hinges, lid and internal fittings before the set is used again.
